A pesquisa foi conduzida pelo professor da Universidade de Wolverhampton Dr. Moses Murandu, que cresceu no Zimbábue, onde as feridas são tratadas com açúcar. 

Cerca de 35 pacientes foram tratados com o tratamento com açúcar para curar feridas, nenhum deles relatou efeitos colaterais.

Em contato com a ferida, o açúcar rapidamente liquefaz, permitindo a desidratação e auxiliando na formação de tecido de granulação. 

A literatura mostra que o efeito osmótico do açúcar também inibe a capacidade de reprodução das bactérias (Loncin e Merson, 1979).

As evidências sugerem que os curativos com açúcar são mais eficazes em feridas infectadas, especialmente aquelas que são infectadas após cirurgia cardio torácica.

Como Usar o Açúcar Para Curar Feridas Com Um Bom Tratamento

Abaixo seguem os passos para se fazer um bom tratamento de feridas com açúcar:

Passo 1

Limpe bem a ferida com sabão e água morna. Seque até ter certeza de que não há mais umidade. Se houver detritos ou objetos estranhos dentro da ferida, extraia tudo e limpe novamente.

Passo 2

Despeje o açúcar diretamente sobre a ferida, certificando-se de que ela entre na ferida e não grude apenas na superfície. Se a ferida for grande, cubra-a com mel primeiro e depois polvilhe o açúcar por cima. 

O mel ajudará o açúcar a permanecer no lugar e fornecerá seus benefícios para curar feridas por completo.

Passo 3

Cubra com um curativo imediatamente e prenda a bandagem com fita adesiva. A bandagem impedirá que bactérias e detritos entrem na ferida.

Passo 4

Troque o curativo e repita a limpeza e a aplicação de açúcar uma vez ao dia. Rasgue a bandagem em vez de puxá-la suavemente. 

O movimento duro irá remover o tecido morto e limpar a ferida.

Passo 5

Ser consistente. Para curar feridas com açúcar é preciso manter consistência e pode ser um processo lento.  Isto pode levar vários meses para cicatrizar feridas graves.  No entanto, você deve começar a ver resultados positivos imediatamente, pois o açúcar irá reduzir a dor da ferida e nos tecidos circundantes.
